Barcelona, 29/6/2021.

NEANIAS members attended the Mobile World Congress 2021, which was held in Barcelona from June-28 to July-1. MWC is the world's largest event dedicated to information and communication technologies and solutions.

The 2021 edition was very special due to the limitations and concerns caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. In this sense, it must be said that the protection measures were high and necessary (requirement of a negative COVID test, temperature control points, safety distances, non-contact environment, digital support and fewer artifacts, cooperation of the Health Authorities, commitment of all attendants in security matters, ...). As expected, this edition had less expositors, presentations, news, speakers or attendants than precedent years. However, people were happy to start to recover this emblematic fair after a difficult 2020 year, where the event was cancelled.

NEANIAS members were able to discuss and be updated with different specialist on the potential of cloud computing, big data or artificial inteligence, as well as the possibilities that technologies like 5G or IoT can provide for the implementation of new innovative solutions in the spectrum of smart cities, both from a technical and business point of view.

In any case, it is great that MWC is back again.
