The NEANIAS Work Package 6 “Core Services Foundation and Implementation” establishes generic, cross-community services that amplify the potential of thematic services delivered by our thematic work packages (Underwater, Atmospheric, Space), enabling Open Science, and facilitating the migration to the EOSC concepts, by streamlining access to cloud resources.

NEANIAS project aims to develop and integrate services to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) in the field of Underwater, Atmospheric and Space research. The objective is to share these thematic services with scientific researchers of EOSC communities on these fields.

NEANIAS is not only research and technology, but also the people who make it possible and put it in value. We present this conversation we had with Simone Mantovani, Managing Director at Meteorological and Environmental Earth Observation (MEEO) a small and medium enterprise located in Ferrara, Italy, in order to make NEANIAS project better known from different perspectives.

2020 has been a genuinely unusual year, but the NEANIAS Space team never lost its focus. We have been working really hard to walk the first steps towards the materialization of our foreseen collaborative research ecosystem in EOSC. We have had to face a fair number of technological and scientific challenges in the process, which often required out-of-the-box solutions to be overcome. It has been a fantastic experience that made us all give our best, a very enriching road that culminated with the first release of NEANIAS space services.
