The deliverable “D.5.5. Open Call for innovation evaluation report, report on the result of evaluation, of applications to open calls” has been successfully submitted.

NEANIAS Project partners have been developing 10+ novel services in hopes of overcoming emerging challenges, like bringing together actors from several disciplines (astrophysics, planetary, ocean, climate, archaeology, geology, computer science and more) to expand the vision of the project on business cases as a result of Open Innovation Calls. There are altogether two rounds of open calls organised in the frame of NEANIAS, with the aim to collect innovative external business cases to try out and integrate the novel services of NEANIAS in these projects. The first Open Call has been concluded with success, collecting altogether 19 eligible applications, representing the Atmospheric, Space and Underwater Thematic Areas. After the evaluation of the technical and business-related aspects, three innovative projects were selected in the first round of the Open Call, closed on the 9 April. After the successful selection, these projects are integrated into NEANIAS to receive the services and develop a valuable business case. This deliverable summarises the results and the lessons learned during the first open call, with the aim to create the basis for the next open call, to be launched in September 2021.
