Presentation of NEANIAS and its EOSC services to the Municipality and Port Authorities of the island city of Aegina.

Aegina, 30/09/2021.

The first results of the calibration, processed during the fieldwork period, were presented in a dissemination workshop organised in September 2021 in Aigina.

The workshop was organised in order to present the NEANIAS Project, its objectives and preliminary results of the 1st and the 2nd release of the services at the local community and local authorities, mainly the Municipality of Aigina and the local Port Authorities. It must be noted that the underwater databases of the various photogrammetries conducted in the framework of the Aigina Harbour-City Project have been used for the testing of the services since 2020. Therefore, this was a great opportunity to present the opportunities the NEANIAS Project has offered so far to the treatment and analysis of the underwater archaeological data, as well as the future potential.

Participants: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the workshop was limited to the local authorities, students, local archaeologists from the Ephorate of Antiquities, as well as colleagues from the Archaeological Museum of Aegina. Topographers and architects from local small private companies were also invited. Finally, representatives from the local diving centres and Underwater Works companies were also present.
